Years had passed since Project ZX. Sir Clive Sinclair had found peace as the ZX Spectrum faded from the spotlight, replaced by newer machines feeding the public’s appetite for games.
But around the dawn of the 21st century, a retro revival reignited interest in Clive’s beloved computer. Fearing mockery, he devised a wicked plan to punish those using his creation for frivolous gaming. Enter the Sinclair C6 Washing Machine—successor to the failed C5—designed to ‘wash away’ the personalities of Spectrum sprites across the web, bringing them under Clive’s sinister control. Only one sprite remained untouched: Jetboot Joe. A forgotten underdog from the golden age, overshadowed by grinning eggs, mansion-hopping millionaires, and a peculiar blue blob named Horace. Now it’s up to Jetboot Joe to save the Spectrum sprites in a retro shooter packed with 10 scrolling levels and nods to over 120 classic games. Relive the sights and sounds of the 80s and collect hundreds of nostalgic souvenirs in Project ZX II. |

The year is 2022. The ZX Spectrum community is still mourning the loss of Sir Clive Sinclair, the brilliant mind behind their cherished 8-bit machine.
Clive had always envisioned the Spectrum as an educational tool and was dismayed by its legacy of mindless gaming. Two failed attempts to reclaim its purpose had left that dream in ruins. But buried deep within Sinclair Research was one final contingency: the Sinclair CS Autobot. Programmed to activate after Clive’s passing, it targets modern emulators, using the sinister Web-O-Vac to suck sprites from their games and reprogram them for evil. Enter Jetboot Joe—unlikely hero of Project ZX II. Aboard a borrowed Zynaps spaceship, Joe shrinks to 8-bit scale and dives into the Autobot’s corrupted computer. His mission: blast through waves of twisted sprites and restore fun to the Spectrum world. And if he can take down the Autobot itself? That would be the ultimate tribute. |
