THE PYRAMID is an arcade style game which has a very adventurous feel to it. The Pyramid contains 120 chambers on 15 levels. In order to get from one chamber to another you must fight off the indigenous aliens to collect an energised crystal which will neutralize the force field guarding the two exits.
This Windows remake also includes bonus levels based on the sequel to the original Spectrum game, Doomsday Castle. |

Jumping Jack knows a four-verse limerick, but he won’t recite it unless you help him reach the top. Each of the twenty screens reveals a new part of the rhyme.
Jack starts on eight layers with two moving gaps—one rises leftward, the other descends right. He must jump through gaps above while avoiding those below. He can move left and right, and wraps around screen edges. Falling through a gap stuns him; hitting the bottom while unconscious costs a life. Each successful jump spawns a new gap. Reaching the top triggers the next level and unlocks more of the rhyme. From level two onward, hazards appear—one per level, up to twenty. They ascend, and contact knocks Jack unconscious. |

You as Wally Week have a number of cars to build, each consisting of 6 parts. You will begin in the store area with tyres bouncing around to hit you. You must go to the stock room, identify the parts required, and go up the ladders to each level to collect them (moving over the part will collect it). The gangplanks are none too safe and you must jump the gaps to reach the relevant parts. There are various items strewn on the floors which again have to be jumped over. These appear in different places on the screen, so the game is a constant challenge.
You will then return to the assembly area to place the parts in their correct positions on the car, but to deposit the upper parts of the car (e.g. windscreen, roof etc) you will have to jump when in the correct position. This is one of the first game I wrote for Windows. Not sure if the stange pixel style I used was a good or a bad thing, but you can decide. |
